Today was the last run before storage....sadly (pics)

Its getting chilly in Canada now, the days are short and we are heading inexorably towards the cold of winter. Today, we arranged to meet up with over 70 other cars for a last run through the fading trees. Tomorrow , time to put the 911s away until April. We had a pretty wide variety of cars today, with just about every generation of 911 represented,plus 928s and Boxsters. Pics below:

IN the next few days attention will turn to loading up the Cayenne and trailer for the Autumn trek to Arizona...down Route 66, a long way from the silent 911s. We will pull out before dawn Thursday to get everything moved before the weather starts to sock in.

This time of the year you see all sorts of combos here...people with parkas and sandals,people with shorts and boots, the lot!...takes us a bit adjust in the changing seasons

Nope;;;we will run Michigan-Ilinois-Missouri-Oklahoma-Texas-NM-AZ and down to Carefree, (edge of Scottsdale). WIll take in a few pieces of Rte 66 not already visited, and on the way back will detour up to Tulsa where a guy has a truly spectacular collection of Porsches in a hangar....more to come on that.

I notice you took the 7.1RS for the meet not the 7.2RS....favourite or because you take the 7.2 to Arizona with you?

That is some roadtrip. I've been to Carefree, its a nice place and being near to Scottsdale also means its close to the OPC there and of course the Penske museum. Will look forward to seeing the pictures.

I have PS SuperSports on the 7.1, and with the temperatures the Cups on the 7.2 are just nasty, especially if you add the possibility of wet leaves n country roads...

I have a Jeep Wrangler in AZ which is much more fun for the conditions- do lots of desert offroading.. I once took a C4S out in AZ at enthusiastic speeds, and the paintwork after three days looked like it had been sandblasted....( which is fact, it was....)..........so, no 911s for AZ.

Want to get away before this.....Right now there are bad storms midweek through Oklahoma and the Panhandle, so time it to avoid them. Hauling a trailer across the Pahandle is brutal in high winds....

I used to live in Springfield, Missouri. Managed to escape back to England. Have a burger for me at the old fashioned Steak n Shake right on the old Rte 66 in the centre of town

Makes sense - should've realised having spent enough time in AZ.

I brought some MPSS back from US for my 7.2RS for exactly those reasons, but haven't fitted them yet. How much differently do they ride and feel to cups?

So was your meet at High Park in Toronto?
