Just saw how much extra bhp per tonne the 996 gt2 has over a 996 turbo and gt3 - what a beast!!!

Hypothetical question.

-Dry road on a cold morning
-Just like a normal residential main road

GT2 is an operating temperature.

If you bury the throttle to the floor from a standing start would you be thrown sideways or would it be ok?

Just wondering how dangerous the gt2 is and how much skill is needed to have fun in a straight line...

It's fine. Plenty of grip just don't drive if like a nob in the wet. Simple :-)

Dry road warm tyres the car pulls in a straight line like a freight train.

Just remember to moderate throttle pedal when the front wheels aren't straight.

Age of tyres makes a difference also, tread was fine on my tyres but they were the original fitment so over 10 yrs old, previous owner hadn't changed them. I swapped them out ASAP made a BIG difference.

there's plenty of grass before you hit anything hard on either side... you'll be fine.!!

Plenty of grip and control, first gear seems very short compared to second so once you have made the first change it seems to take forever for the next.
In dry conditions my stock GT2 is way faster to 100 than my modded tt tip with a featherweight driver in.
Corners are a very different thing though, std setup on the 2 leaves the car with a lot of under steer which takes a lot of courage to drive through, a smooth driving style is essential as any aggressive or staccato input can unsettle the car and coupled with a dollop of power it's prob why the car has earned it's reputation.
Tyres really are important, mine are a bit iffy now (being 6 years old) but being a tightwad I elected to run the last but 1 Vmax on them. Had several moments on the bottom bend for the first time ever.

Do you think it would have better straight line traction then a non-sagaris tvr?
