do i need to disconect battery ?

hi I am going to fit a eurocup gt carbon y pipe filter, but on a youtube clip they say to disconnect the battery, is this the case as I am worried about loss of codes etc

Best to, to avoid unexpected issues.

On 9x6:
Ignition ON before disconnecting battery
Ignition OFF before reconnecting battery

PCM1/CDR21/22 you'll need a radio code
PCM2/CDR23 are VIN coded so wont need a code once reconnected.

DME will be fine but bear in mind that any adaption that has been made will be reset so the engine may run slightly rough until it readapts later. A throttle adaption is necessary on e-throttle cars (ignition ON 60secs, off for 10seconds sorts that) and your one touch windows will be lost until reset (window UP then hold/release/UP again and hold)
