How much is it worth ?
Discussion
Hi, I have just inherited a 911 Cabriolet Turbo 1984, I beleve it was originaly purchased in the USA and converted to RHD on arrival in the UK. Its done 30,000 miles and in excellent condition, any one have an idea on its value. Thanks in advance

It was RR who said that, but I have to agree with you both 100 per cent. The RHD conversion will put off many, as will American provenance, and turbo cabriolets are a funny mix of pose and performance. It's the kind of thing Henry at 911virgin may give cash for, and sell on cheap.
15k is probably max price (condition dependent), although it may go for a few grand less if you wanted to shift it quickly. Maybe as little as 10k. It sounds like it may be better value to hold on to, as should be a fun car.
PS The power *may* be less than standard because American models tended to have tougher emissions criteria - maybe only 280 not 300 bhp. You'd have to check.

UPDATE.....Just checked the docs its a 1990 not 1984, I was going by the number plate, Im a dummy its a private plate not year relivant. The RHD coversion was done by a Porsche dealer, who also put a UK spec S/S exhaust on as well. So back to original question whats its value and any idea on performance stats...Thanks
OK, this obviously makes some difference.
American spec and RHD conversion still count against it, but we should be talking about a later 'Turbo 2' shape - although this is close to a changeover year, so does it have 'bellows'/'concertina' bumpers or smooth ones?
If it has smooth bumpers, integral to the body, then it may well be a 320bhp turbo 2 with a five speed box. It would certainly be worth late teens, maybe early twenties.
If it has the fussier bumper design (ie they look separate from the overall bodywork, and there are black plastic/rubber ridged 'bellows' at each side) then it will be one of the last 930 Turbos. (The Turbo 2 is classed as a 965 model).
I would suggest it is probably worth a minimum of 15k, and a maximum of around 20k. It is a buyer's market at the moment, so this is only a guide...
Performance will be roughly the same as the figures posted before. The exhaust may liberate a few more bhp, but shouldn't be hugely noticeable.

But even then it will just be a guide, as it is such a specialist car, and peoples' ideas of condition will be subjective. Also, it is worth what someone will pay, so this forum may arrive at a lower (or higher) figure than you could achieve.
More details would be helpful, though. A quick search on the net will yield many results re what spec it is.
