Same with all modern cars though isn't it? Legislation and increasing safety requirements and the desire for more gadgets / tech mean all cars have grown to accommodate, it isn't peculiar to Porsche

I graduated in 1979, at which point a 911SC weighed 1180kg. My '09 997.2 C2S is more comfortable, has more gadgets and comes in at 1430kg. That's an increase of 21% or so in 29 years. I'm now more comfortable and have more gadgets than I had in 1979 and if my weight had only risen by 21%, I'd be well happy!

Certainly illustrates how ridiculous American cars have become in terms of size.

A Audi Q7 would still look small next to them.

When I had ny 968CS I parked it between two cars, one was the new type Fiesta and the some kind of 'small' new Fiat.

I reckon the top of the CS came up to the door handles of the other two.

Even modern small cars are massive.

No half mate!

I can park my 3.2 in the narrow end of my garage and walk around it, polish and get the wheels off. Park my Golf on the same place and I can't get out banghead
