Where do you keep your other keys (house, garage, office etc)?

I've even taken the leather porsche badge thing so that I'm left with just the key in the ignition, the little tap tap tapping was driving me nuts.

Problem as I see it is that I now have a bare ignition key that could quite easily slip unnoticed from my shorts (sun's out) and fall to the floor without even a jangle.

Does anyone have some suggestions for some kind of key case/organiser that allows me to keep the rest of my keys with the car key yet doesn't smash against dashboard annoyingly?

I can't be the only one?!

I keep my car keys bare of key rings, or heavy key fob jewelry/doodads. Extra weight, like having the key on a heavy key ring brings subjects the ignition switch to extra wear and tear. The techs tell me the switches that need to be replaced are almost always in cars of owners who have the car key on a key ring so loaded down it takes two hands to lift.

At home or at the office I immediately empty my pockets and place the keys in bowl. Not next to the door if you have a mail slot. There have been reports of thieves reaching in with a grabber and snagging the keys and using the key to start and drive off in the car.

If you are worried about losing the key try wrapping the key head with a rubber band or buying lightweight key fob jewelry to make the key less likely to slip out of your pocket.

Ok, thank you, I'll take your sensible answer as confirmation I'm not doing anything wrong/weird and stick with the current system which works brilliantly.

I am not sure it's a good idea publishing on here where you put your keys!

I keep house keys, work keys, etc on something like this, with the car key on one of the clips. You do need a ring for the clip to work on a Porsche key. After a while you get in the habit of clipping on and off.

It means that the bunch of keys in your pocket includes your car keys. (Which is reassuring)

Fair point but I can count on one hand the number of times I've used the stereo in 3 months; I'm still enjoying the PSE even pootling around town, hence the removal of every ornament from the car key.
Just wondered if there was an awesome bit of hi-tech kit for holding my keys; with an app preferably!

String? and/or a elastic band.

Tie it through a belt loop or make a nice necklace to keep you keys on when not in the car smile

Low tech works every time

My spare key is somewhere in a cupboard at home. Its got a flat battery anyway so thieves are welcome to it.

While we are on the subject of keys... Does anyone else find the standard Porsche key (for a 2006ish car) is really irritating? The number of times I've held it in my hand along with my wallet/phone as I exit the car and its opened the bonnet or the hatch must be numbering in the thousands by now.
