Struggling to get a definitive answer for this.

What is the definitive transmission oil for a 996 2003 Manual? Its 86k miles, so its about time.

I have asked my OPC for a quote, just in case...but surely there must be another supplier which is supplying the same thing!

Happy to go for OEM equivalent.

I'm using Redline synthetic gear oil, 75W-90NS...car is a modified 996 turbo. It's a simple enough job to change providing you can get decent access to underneath and you have something to pump the new stuff in with.

Yep, as ES states, available from Opie Oils.

I may try the Millers stuff next time round though: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60230-millers-oils-crx...

OPC quoted part# 999.917.546.00 @ £21.48 per litre

I have tracked this down to 'Shell Spirax ATE S5'.

Only seems to be available in 20 litre containers!

So I stumped up to the dealer. At least I get a nice Porsche receipt.
