This 911SC, estimated at 5-8k was supposed to go under the hammer on June 1st - did anyone see it or buy it?

At that money, assuming it's not a lemon, it looks pretty good value! Presumably it went (if it went) for more than the estimate. I'd have been very tempted myself, but was out of the country. Would love to hear more about it if anyone was there.

I think that just goes to show what these early 911s are worth , some go for crazy money , so if you have one from 63 to 89 keep hold of it , its your pension pot

The bidding stopped at £14k, so I suppose the extra was buyers commission and VAT?

Anything 63 to 97 in my view. In other words, anything air cooled based on the original architecture/chassis.

I dunno Molly. Yes aircooled is going crazy, all but the 993 it seems to me if going off the classified is anything to go by.
High mileage anything pre 993 is going skywards, not the case case with the 993 it seems.

DELETED: Comment made by a member who's account has been deleted.
I would comment that 964 prices have supassed the 993. Looking through the classifieds over 100K 993s are now quite often below 20K. It seems the other way around for 964s.
It seems even lower mileage NB 993s are not going for more than a lot of 964s with higher mileage to me.
I was at Goodwood on Sunday and there did seem alot of RS 964 wanna bes there. Maybe the ability to to convert a standard car to something special has helpled with 964 prices, who knows, and fair play if it has. I looked into something similair myself a while back.

Totally agree, the 993 is holding at the moment, some say its a re-adjustment. Pretty much all of the others have caught up and overtaken the 993 now. Obviously the big movers have been the 3.2 and the 964.

However, its only a matter of time for the 993. Good manual coupe 3.2 and 964 are disappearing fast and I believe that it wont be long before they are nudging 30k (Some are already).

Its also a matter of age - 3.2s, 964 etc will have had intensive refurbs and even restorations by now. Even low use garage queens will probably have had extensive work. Mileage is a lot less important when a car has had it's engine rebuilt, a full paint job, and a re trim !

993's on the other hand are still judged and valued very heavily on mileage as it is still possible to find lots of 50k full main dealer history cars. This means that the market is a lot easier to judge for the prospective buyer.
