Morning all,

Currently looking at a Spyder but unfortunately the original owner spec'd it with turbo wheels.

Is there anywhere selling Spyder wheels at sensible money? Only place I have found is in the US and before shipping costs are approx 4.5k.

Thanks in advance

At that price I'd be inclined to stick with the Turbo's!! How much are they from your dealer?

I'm going to call my local OPc this morning.

Not a fan of the turbo's and believe this is one of the reasons it's not sold, spyders need to have a certain spec to sell it seems.

non spyder wheels are a big no no!its what the car is all about and cars up for sale without them take ages to shift.i mean would you buy a gt3 with turbo wheels?
spec is key to the sale of spyders

if you are looking at the one on autotrader for £46k i would offer £39k because he will struggle to sell and then buy the proper wheels.less than £46k gets you a pukka car lower miles and with the right spec.

Completely agree,

Man, buckets, exhaust, spyder wheels and dare I say aircon!?!

This one is not on the market but would be early thirties, friend of a friend.

It is manuel with exhaust and a few other nice bits but on standard wheels and seats (seats not a massive problem as ill be using the car every week and the ol back isn't as good as it use to be!)

You don't really need aircon on a Spyder. The standard wheels are the Spyder wheels and the standard seats are the carbon buckets. The fool who spec'd it changed the standard spec!!

if its early 30s then not such an issue with the wheels/seats.why does every one who dont have buckets think they are uncomfortable,i was like that until i got them, yes they are awkward to get in and out but over a long trip they are no worse than sports seats i had on my previous cayman s

Typical Boxster owner ....

Thinks the ideal spec includes having a man alongside you laugh

Is there room for 2 sets of scissors, dryers, rollers etc in a Spyder confused

Sense of humour failure ... ?

I wouldn't normally add to the Boxster stereotype, but anyone who includes a man in their specification was too good miss and it's always good to wind up the more manly Spyder owners (Zyp, Rob, Mr D etc) who still have their sense of humour intact.

I've had one without air and my latest one with air - never used it.

I never understand why people de-specced the most expensive items that were standard!

My dealer had specced one himself. Pdk, turbo wheels, sports seats... Tried to sell it to me rather than me order one and spec it myself. He seemed shocked when I laughed and told him it was absolutely ruined.

If it is of interest, I will be selling my Spyder for around £33k, 22k miles with proper seats, exhaust and wheels. White car with black wheels and manual.
I was planning on posting it this week in the classifieds.
Message if you want to know more info.
Why would you sell it so cheap ?

Maybe because it has the ropey seats in it? No sure there is much of a market for a Spyder without the proper buckets.

James just seen your profile and figured it must be you! Glad to hear you're still on the look out for a Spyder.

Why not get some Oz allegritas in 18 inch, thus losing the heavy turbo wheels and costing about £1300+tyres?

Come resale stick the turbos back on?

Just a thought!
