Hi all,

I'm looking at a spare set of wheels for my car and would like them to also have the sensors for the TPMS, does anyone have experience in buying some.

There is a supplier on eBay here - 170989305896

Not sure if thisis expensive or not for this particular item as a set of4 will be £420!!!!!!!!! Whereas you can buy the onboard units for £155 from Porsche911

Any advice/experience would be appreciated

You can buy them directly from TireRack in the USA for circa £250.

The TireRack price is for batteries/sensors and new valves delivered from the USA! These were also the OE Beru units.

TireRack looks like the best option then, unless you're in a rush... which I was.

I know!!!!

It is realistically a complete rip off, considering there are alternatives but won't work with the onboard system.

Have you guys ever see the valve cap system version?

I'll find the link and post it, for a third of the price it does the same job albeit an external sensor as opposed to the OE version

Here's the link

Would there not be delivery, VAT and Customs Duty to add to the TireRack ones too, or is that the grand total?

I paid £250 including delivery (~£30 delivery)! Granted, mine slipped through customs without being picked up, but that would add about £50 to the bill if they were stopped. Delivery was about a week by FedEx.

How long did delivery take? And did they work from the off with the onboard equipment?

Still saves £100 too

Delivery was about a week and you have to pair them with the car via the menu stalk and takes about 5 minutes to work. Had them for about two months now and no problems.

Sounds good enough for me,

Tried to PM you but wouldn't accept it. Can you post a link to the site you used as google comes up with this

http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/category.jsp?c...

But I can't find the Beru system sensors on their site

Cheers

Go here, enter your car model details and then to the TPMS area (IIRC).

I must be dumb!!! That link takes me to a section I have already tried and does not provide details of the TPMS sensor for sale, so I've emailed them.

The TPMS sales section no longer lists the Beru units just some by 'Dill'

Cheers anyway
