Porsche have always asserted that mcpherson struts were sufficient. However then 981 boxter spec ....

http://press.porsche.com/vehicles/2013/2013_Boxste...

... states both front & rear are:

"Fully independent double-wishbone with trailing links, tie rods,
and spring struts"

Mind you the 981 cayman spec contradicts it stating mcpherson/mcpherson...

Unless baffelingly they have different suspensions?

911 991 spec is also similar mcpherson/mcpherson ("type", what ever that means)

http://press.porsche.com/vehicles/2013/2013_911_Te...

I'd have thought the suspension for all of these cars would be very similar (at least at the front), and identical between the boxter/cayman. Have the marketing people just jumbled up the words with techno-babble, and/or got it plain wrong?

When you say "yes", are you saying that, yes, the marketing people have got it all wrong, and its basically the same mcpherson strut suspension setup (with various mods) on all these cars?

Maybe "double" wishbone refers to the fact that there is a lower "wishbone" on each side...
