What will happen to the Oulton RS Day in 2014 ?
Discussion
With the demise of Easy Track and the unclear position of Porsche on Track what are the plans for this day next year. I raise the topic now, having attended 6 of them I feel it need to be looked after sooner rather than later and the spirit and essence of the day is not changed. Ideally I personally would like Melv et al involved again, the same time of year, same track and same other drivers with some new ones added. The Friday works well but Saturday is ok too.
I got an email today from a company that had bought Easy Tracks Web Booking system from the liquidator thats what prompted my post. Do we, should we want them involved ? I 'd appreciate if only past RS Day attendees replied or potential new ones who are serious about attending, not just posting random thoughts here for the sake of it.

To be honest I've still never done this even though I feel that I'd like to every year. Mostly due to the time of year that is has been scheduled as it is always fully booked far enough in advance that you don't know if there will be snow on the ground before you have to commit :-|
This year, however, it clashed with the BaT Iberia tour so I didn't even need to ponder the decision. I reckon that if it is to have a future though it will have to be organised through one of the TDOs with a strong reputation amongst the Porsche track community - especially after the PoT debacle. I'd like to hear of Melv in discussion with Jonny at BaT or Melindi at GT to get it nailed on the calendar for every year. I am sure that he himself will have a more worthwhile opinion on whether that might be viable than my ramblings though.

I bet PCGB would love to host it and would not differentiate the price between members and non-members in the circumstances. Plenty (most?) of regular RS day attenders are already members anyway and the recent Anglesey day demonstrated that the club is clearly capable of hosting an enjoyable well organised day. All the booking mechanisms and promotional vehicles are in place and nobody has to worry about losing their money.
The current board are very enthusiastic and in my opinion are running the club better than ever in relation to the last 10 years or so in which I have been involved.
If there is a consensus of opinion, I would happily ring Brendan Daly who is the relevant director and feedback on here.
Now, if anyone could just lend me an RS...

One of my main gripes about PCGB track days is that there's no on-line booking or availability checking.
Can't say it's ever been a problem for me, you can email the bookingform or just ring them. Sold out events are usually publicised.
An online booking system would of course benefit some.
