Had some issues with PSE 996

Posting this for the benefit of anyone with a similar problem not yet solved.
My PSE seemed to have an intermittent problem. Sometimes Id start the car and the switch was stuck to quiet, other times it was stuck to loud, other times it was fine. Sometimes I'd remove and plug the relay back in and it all worked correctly.
I bought a new relay and its all working great now. Then I found out about the annoying speed cut out...not wanting to snip the diode (taking apart the old one verified this had been done!) I just bent back pin 1 and it all works great (and reversible - tested on my old relay)
Would be great to wire in that cutout to a dash switch, future project maybe.
