Hi,
I decided to replace the tyres on my Cayman.
I am looking for something with good grip (also in the wet) and good availability - I also want to be able to get a quick replacement if needed.
Front: 235/40R18 Y 91
Rear: 265/40R18 Y 97

At the moment my candidates are:
Continental Sport Contact 3 (N1)
Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (N4)
Pirelli P Zero Rosso (N4)

I know that Michelin Pilot Super Sport is the favourite choice but I cannot find 235/40R18 online.
Thant makes me think about availability.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Jake.

+1

Quieter, grippier and more durable than the Conti's in my experience

The Super Sports are not available in the UK in that size at all, i've spoken to Michelin and and Event Tyres also tried to find some for me and couldn't.

PS2's would be my choice as well. If you are unable to get them I would recommend Goodyear F1 Assymetrics over your other choices.

I put 245 Supersport's on the front of. my Cayman. My friend who bought the car off me still runs them.
They feel really good, both in the wet and the dry.
Good availability on them too. Event can normally get them very quickly.

I would have to say thats not a bad shout, and it will give a bit better front end grip and remove some understeer wink

Other than that PS2 N4, i have these on my GT3 and they do the job well.

Thanks for the comments – I am not a driving God and probably prefer 235 on the front wink
M PS2 is your favorite so will be it. I am just a bit worried about PS2’s wet rating [B] if that makes any difference.

I use them on my Cayman S which is my daily drive and have used them in all conditions. They are a superb all round tyre.
