I may be by myself here, but I think this is a stunning Porsche.

Anyone afford a guess at how much?
(I can't see a price quoted)
Some other nice cars being sold, too.
*obviously I haven't spent it, as I haven't won it.

The car's lovely but it really annoys me when boot racks are fitted, or worse still designed to be fitted (as per MX5), the wrong way around. Braking force in any car is better than acceleration so the aim of the rack is to stop your suitcase decapitating you, not stop it slipping off the back when you boot it. /pedantrantover

That doesn't mean they're right though! It does show how things get mis-interpreted as time goes on, and probably also explains the number of cars I see with them the wrong way around. Ask yourself this - if you were in an accident with a 20kg suitcase on a rack a few inches from the back of your head and trying to continue moving forwards at 20/30/50mph, which end would you prefer the upstanding bit to be on?!ras62 said:
I seriously doubt the safety aspect of these things was ever considered back in the day Marcus. The retaining bar is there to allow a case to be placed on the rack and stop it falling off while it is secured with straps.
That's my point - it was originally designed (on those cars that had them from new in the 60's for example) the way I described for many cars. On some they're horizontal but the upstand still serves a purpose for safety.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
