Boxster Oil Level Indicator

Does anyone know the volume of oil one 'bar' indicates on the oil level indicator on a 3.2 986 Boxster? Mine is 2-3 'bars' down from the top so I need to top it up, just worried about over-filling it. I had a look at the dipstick and that wasn't a lot of help, it was also an arse to get it back in it's home!
