Pity they didn't select a bigger bike.

A 1000cc bike rather than a 600 might have had a differnt result.

Those Triumph test riders are crazy, I remember doing a Don Palmer driving course there in my Evo 8 came off the top bend floored the throttle and this nutter comes past on his back wheel, absolutely brilliant!

yikes
That top bend is bumpy as hell... (you can 'see' the bumps by watching the stickers on the 996t windscreen)
Fair play to the biker for having the stones to carry speed around that bend, but I'm assuming the car was holding back on the bend and not trying to pass the bike until the straight?

Correct the car was holding back giving the bike a lead in order to show the power of the car. The car was running on pump fuel that day and was making around 900hp - it needs to run higher octane to make bigger power. The biker was flat out around the whole 4.2 miles of Brunters doing around 10 laps in succession - we just happenned to be there at the time testing ourselves so it made for a bit of fun. Just shows how quick bikes are as well.

We didn't select the bike - it just happenned to be at Brunters on the same day - just a little bit of fun.

Ken when we played with the bike, I was probably running about 100 and a bit HP less, more like 750 - 800 HP, I had turned down the boost a little. I have done a lot of track stuff on bikes when I was younger, this chap was pro test rider, his lines were mostly 100% flat out and totally clean. Very impressive how quick and stabile modern sport bikes are.

Late last year at full chat (still pump gas, so 900'ish HP) I did a few roll ons with a RR1000. We sat next to each other and launched at the count of 3 from about ~50 mph, up to 140'ish we were neck and neck, from then on I started to pull hard away and I struggled to see the bike in my rear mirror at ~200 mph. Obviously the excess power and aero a that point begin to struggle the bike, but interesting to see how much power you really need in a car to match the fastest road going sports bike today.
