Have been with them for years, including two claims that were handled very swiftly with no hassle.

I was with them anyway, but having now changed to a multi car policy with the girlfriend's car on it as well the Porsche's premium has gone down ~£300, with no change to the number of miles or anything. Don't think anyone else could come close to that price now. Just need to make sure you declare all factory fitted optional extras with Admiral, as this is something they specify in their terms, otherwise I think in the event of a claim they will only pay out the value of the most basic spec.

How do they handle no claims bonus? The multi-car policy I have doesn't "award" ncb, so if I ever want to unwind to single policies it'll be mighty hard.

I had a Aviva multi car policy and just had the renewal and it went up 15% to £650 for a Porsche Carrera ans Ford S-max.

I had a good look around the internet and ended up changing to Admiral multi car policy by phone call to their offices in Cardiff so only five miles from my house and after some haggling had the same cover for £450 so good price for these two cars and £200 saving on my renewal.

I was surprised that the Porsche was cheaper to cover £220 than the S-max at £230.

Admiral multi car policies do have no claims bonus as we have maximum NCB on both cars and is protected.Although it is a multi car policy the cars are treated as individual cars regarding NCB,claims etc.

Interesting.

Have 3 points due off in September, and 6 points back in 09 that are off but still within 5 years.
10 years NCB on Aston

Quoted:

£1300 for Aston (was paying £1800 First Point)Tracker
£1300 for RS4( Due so not insured yet)No Tracker
£400 for A3 2.0 TDI ( was paying £730 from More Than)No Tracker

Few issues, no agreed value if written off, and won't agree to allow repair at marque approved workshop.

Heard good and bad reviews as expected...decisons...

We used Admiral multicar for a year, then when it came to renewal out of interest I tried Compare the Market to see if we were getting a good deal. Turned out we could insure 2 cars (not Porsches however) on separate policies with the same terms with a main competitor but for £150+ less than Admiral multicar. Admiral couldn't match it so always check prices/policies each renewal time.

I spoke to them about this very thing on Sunday. I came to the conclusion that the value of the car would be similar whether the spec was high or not, the guides don't distinguish for example, between a car with PCCB's, sport chrono etc... and those that don't. They said it goes mainly on mileage, year and condition.

I also discussed about not telling them about the spec, and it being a non-disclosure issue. They stated that as long as I was happy to get market value then it would not be an issue.

go for it but check carefully each year at renewal time. i used them for three years with a multi-car policy that covered 5 cars as they were initially very competitive, sadly on year 4 they stuck the premium up over 100 percent and renewed it automatically, which i then had to undo and they kept trying to take the money directly even after i had cancelled the policy and insured via Chubb much much cheaper and better terms. awful experience with them.

That's interesting. I have three cars, separately via a broker, with Aviva and Admiral quoted me just about the same on a multi car policy.

Since the I have had drops of £75 and ££125 on two of the cars as they came up for renewal and I 'negotiated' using a meerkat quote.

Give Jonathon @ Pace Ward a call. I'd be VERY surprised if you go Admiral after speaking to PW. http://www.paceward.com/insurance/motor-insurance/...

Spot on. At renewal time it's actually cheaper to renew with Admiral on separate policies than it is to renew the multi-car policy. Then, a year later when your separate policies expire it's cheaper to start another multicar policy and so on...

Multicar quotes always come out for me at £2500-£3500 whereas I insure my 4 cars (inc. 2 pork) for around £1200 and 2 policies have trackdays. Never understood multicar or who its good for.
