I'm planning on having the vinyl stone guards replaces on 09 white as they have gone a yellow colour and started to peel slightly so look a mess.

However ive also noticed the paint or what ever it is (Rough kinda paint) along the side skirt right at the bottom have also started going yellow as well as the flat bit just inside the rear wheel archers. Car has only done 20k mileage

Is this a common known issue on the white 911's? is it covered by the warranty.. can they be re-sprayed etc

Phoning OPC tomorrow to see what they say, but would like some advice before I do.

Thanks

Do you use tyre dressing to make the tyres look glossy ?

This stuff stains the stone guards. The paint should be able to be returned to original colour with some machine polishing. My GT3 is white and almost three years old and the paint is still like new.

I had paint protection film put on the car and it's yellowed a bit behind the wheels where road grime flicks up and the dealer put tyre dressing on it after a service !!!

Yes, I have use wheel dressing in the past.

I've tried tar remover and clay but the side skirts are still the same colour all the way along. I'm now wondering if they were always that colour but more noticeable because the vinyl stone guards on the side are very yellow. They are very clean and tidy now but still off white.

Anyone with a White 911 confirm if the lowest part of the side skirts are the same white as the rest of the car or slightly off white?

I've got a 59 plate 997.2 C2S in white.

The lowest part of the sill is discoloured on mine.

The rear arch "stone guards" also discolour - they replaced mine when I bought it.

If I get my car detailed then the stone guards come up a treat but that's with someone spending two days with the polishing potions. The sills still don't match.

Annoying!

Thanks Bubba.. mine is going in Thursday to get the summer wheels swapped back on so have asked them to change the stone guards at the same time.

Might mention the side skirt to them too as see what they say.

Please let me know how you get on regarding the sills.

It's quite annoying once you've noticed the mismatch in colour.
