After over one year with my 996tt and lots of money poured into the bloody thing with the tipping point arriving in January. 'Should I keep it as I have spent so much there can be nothing left to replace, or should I sell it as it is only the tip of the iceberg'. I kept it. I entered into the deep dark world of detailing world, spent lots on polishing machines etc so now my 13 year old car looks 3 years old and the Lapis blue metallic flakes ping in the sun. Last weekend I did the long haul return from mid france to Manchester, leaving at midnight.. This is what it was made for, wow. Inside was me, the missus and the 2 (2.5 yr olds) kids in the back, plus enough for the weekend. Whatever was thrown at it, there was no flinch, every flex of the foot pushed us forward. The cabin was warm and cosy, the lights are great, the music/radio not necessary. I haven't got the sports seats but I was perfectly comforatble for 16 hours. 3300 kms in total, 10.5l/100 equals 2050 miles and 27 mpg??? In my defence the traffic in the UK dictates 70/80 mph on the motorways other than that it was driven as it was designed. I hope to take some pics as it looks great with the high speed rain trails on the wings and the insect slides up the bonnet.

My advice this year - if you want one buy one, you only live once.

Great. Now I want one more than ever - this is exactly what I'd love to do with it!

7k. The usual, rads, heatshields known when I got it due to the ppi. Suspension redone to be perfect. Could have lasted another year. Then fuel pump and clutch which cannot be spotted on the ppi. Also battery and of course a service.
