I searched but couldnt find a list of recommendations of B&Bs on my fast approaching road trip. It would be really useful for anyone planning a road trip.

For starters, I would welcome any recommended B&Bs at or near the following stopovers i have planned:

Bad Durkheim
Lucerne
Glarus
Como
Monaco/cannes
Lyon
Reims

Cheers

I stayed at the Campanile in Reims last year. Not to expensive, the one right in the centre of town, I could see the Cathedral from my bedroom window and the city centre was less than a 10 minute walk away..
Underground secure parking with hardly any others in it. Got my 993 down there without a problem, unsure about a GT3 though.

Try Booking.com

We have used it several times, it has loads of B&B / Hotels in seemingly every town in Europe.

It's also a bit more reliable than Tripadvisor as you can only leave a review after you have stayed there.

We normally sort the hotels by review rating and pick one with good reviews.

So far they have all been great and for some reason we normally seem to get upgraded when we arrive.

Hi there

I've been traveling through France for many years and have always found the B&B's on the Logis network to be consistently good. They are all over France.

hello mate, got yuor geustbook comment

in BD we stayed at the Mercure and it was excellent, cheap, clean, spacious and typically efficient

we skipped glarus and stayed in Weesen in the Flyhof ... lovely little place with very charming rooms overlooking the lake but food was fairly expensive so we ate in the town:

lucerne we stayed the the thorenberg

it was ok, smallish rooms though, on a main road and you coudl probably do bettter and apart from anything else, stay more in the centre which is quite picturesque

If you plan to stay around Lyon (and no IN Lyon), you could stay in Perouges, a lovely old village, a potentially stay here:

I had a bad experience in Perouges, one of three to have had the car broken into. They wait for the tourists. Lovely medieval village though. Just north of Reims http://www.la-maison-bleue.com/, has character. Also check out the chambre d'hotes as they can be much better than the hotels, (but they can also be worse). If you stay in Lyon there are lots of 'vinci' car parks, if you park overnight it is about 5 euros, but you have to exit before 7 as the daily charges are much more, secure, heated and they even play music for your car.....

Gentlemen

Thank you all for your comments and recommendations. Planning this trip is my favourite waste of time right now. Lots to plan, 36 days to go.

Has anyone been to the Villa D'Este concours? We are planning our trip such that we are at Como on that weekend. I guess it must be worth a look in?

Thanks again
