Help please.

My dads daily driver came up with a few issues tonight after I cleaned it for him......

Car is a 2004 997 Carrera 2 3.6. Tiptronic. 80k miles

In no particular order.

1. Brake Distribution Failure
2. PSM failure
3. ABS failure
4. Rear Spoiler went up and won't come down.
5. Speedo not working.
6. When parked the Dashboard Gear indicator flashes between "Park" and "4th"
7. Radio won't work when on the move.
8. Car won't change out of 2nd gear when on the move.

Any ideas? Car was fine an hour before so all problems must be linked. Or maybe it's just some moisture got into the computers somewhere (fingers crossed it'll dry out ok !)

Wish us luck?

Battery? Loose connection, water nearby, something like that.

My first guess is you've got something wet (yes, I know it's obvious) and/or maybe blown the odd fuse (though unlikely).

Have you taken it for a drive? If not and it IS driveable, it could dry it out by warming up some key components.

Hi,

Sounds like the gateway control unit is wet now... Spoiler comes up if can line faulty... May work when dry but needs attention.

It's a 911 not a boxster.......

Sorry.

Bad luck OP, I'm sure Mike will point you in the right direction. How does the control unit get wet during washing?

Hi, the gateway off memory sits underneath wiper scuttle panel on drivers side.. Worth taking the trim out(just pulls out) and see how wet that area is..?

After checking that...

Did you leave the ignition on for a few hours? The battery voltage may be low, causing the system to spaz out (tm).

Typical symptoms of a knackered battery
Don't worry it's pretty unlikely all those parts of the car failed simultaneously
