As per title...

I need to generate some space in the garage and work commitments dont allow me the time to take the old girl out on track - so time to advertise and move it on.

Its a 1987 944 2.5 White with Martini 'decoration'.
Interior stripped
2 x bucket seats, each with Sabelt 4 point harnesses
Gas adjustables
Toyo 888's on original pepperpots (1 light track day use)
Dash left in place and electric windows left in place
Lightweight race battery
Bodywork good (sills replaced but not to 'show' standard)
Inline battery cut off switch located in cabin

Lights / Indicators etc etc all work so I guess could go back on the road if someone was so inclined.

Currently sorned - Reg plate E944 ANN (reg transfers quoting £600 if transferred and sold).

So - whats it likely to be worth (as a non-road use) track car?

No cage?

Is suspension just shocks? Or full coilie kit?

No mot & not road legal i'd see it at sub grand, prob £700-800 Mot & road legal you could perhaps see up to £1500 but think thats perhaps Tad optimistic.

I bought 924S new emc engine, cage, leda race suspension, emc race Geo set up 2 sets wheels & Was a mega clean shell, not many 944 even 968 were that solid & rot free & i paid £1500.

Oh crap!!!

Thankfully (in this instance) I am based the other side of the channel and for some reason car prices right from brand new through to oldtimers, seem to be insanely high.

I spotted a 944 on a local 'freeads' type site which was really quite knarly looking, no buckets, no cage, just scruffy interior and a racing number decal on the door for............... 6000+ euro!!!! yikes

(I'm not expecting to get anything like that btw - I was just taken aback by the optimistic pricing)

Well Alex's 924S was a bit of a steal - probably near half price IMO (I was very tempted myself). Nevertheless there's a very limited market for non road legal 2.5 8V 944's. If you're serious enough about towing to trackdays then you're likely to have something a bit quicker & probably caged on the back of your trailer.

How much work would it take to make it road legal? probably very little. Might be worth doing, or at least advertise it as a road legal car that has no current tax or MOT.

Yep, good point - something I had eluded to in the advert but not sold it on that basis.

I had considered just trying to get a ticket on it and using it as something a bit different, but to be honest the potholes, speed bumps and kerbs I have to contend with round here trouble the Cayenne let alone a lowered stiff 944!!!

I'll see if I can speak with a local mechanic who has a lot of stuff through his doors (german and race car specialist), and see if he can tempt someone into a bit of track action.
