Viewed a 2003 996 C4S today, but under the front bonnet was no white sticker, with the car details on.
To me this means that the bonnet is not the original - is my assumption correct ?(and the car is apparently HPI clear so maybe a private repair ?)

I'd strongly suggest getting an expert to look at the car. No offence, but if youre drawing this conclusion based on one missing sticker it sounds like you could do with an experts opinion. I can see why you may think that but what else has led you to this conclusion? Paint, shut lines, over spray etc etc.

The sticker maybe missing due to a whole heap of other reasons.

^^^ As VS says above^^^

Dig deeper and remember that there is a duplicate of this sticker in the service book anyway if you want to check C16...

Even if it has had a new bonnet it might not make it a bad car.

I had a C4 cab about 7 or 8 years ago that had had a mountain bike fall off a garage wall on to it - as luck would have it (due to where they were on the bonnet) I was able to get the dents taken out and the front end re-painted (having photographed it all beforehand) but it could just as easily have required a new bonnet, which once changed would have no detriment on the quality of the car (apart from the lack of the sticker!).
