I just popped the SS in my diary, and was wondering if anyone wanted to meet for a Starbucks at South Mimms, before heading round the 25 in convoy?

I'm in Welwyn Garden City, so will be heading out fairly early.
Its my first Service, so not sure on timings/arrival/traffic.

Haven't been to one before and am tempted to check it out as well. Would be coming from Central London.

What time did you have in mind?

Probably about eight, although I'll be checking the main event for when to arrive etc...
Places seem to be filling up pretty quick.

Gates will open at 09:00. Cars start queuing about half eight.

Wow, 823 people signed up already! I guess I'm on the waiting list...

Hi,

Could be up for that, coming from St Albans, so South Mimms very easy. Been before, you may need to leave a little earlier around 7.45am, does get very busy, as they park the cars at the front, plus if you want to get onto any of the lists for rides out etc..

Let me know?

Thanks G

Hi Gio
7.45 sounds about right, especially if queues start at half eight or so.

Where to meet at Mimms?

I wouldn't worry about being in the queue. Cars all get parked and it really only means you have a longer queue at the food when you arrive later. I generally skip the catering and use the MBW cafe.

+ 1 for MBW cafe, slightly better than the burger vans wink Especially when my son is vegetarian and has no real choice..

I don't mind - how many on the convoy so far?

just you and me so far.

I've put a thread up in the events/travel etc section. Perhaps there are some other marques coming our way.
Will aim for 7.30, get a big coffee, and wait to see who turns up as I'm heading that way anyway and there's plenty of room to park.

you won't miss the GT3.

Oh yes...wobble..sorry!
That makes three then. No responses on the main board, I guess the non-Porsche drivers have to wait to get home from work before firing up PH?

Great, be good to see you for a coffee. I'll keep an eye on the other boards and give an update on who's coming.

There's a Herts PM meet up near WGC, but a lot of that contingent are now going to SS, so have posted the meeting point and time in the thread.

Saw the 964 RUF on the list - I may have to bring my drool towel!

Keep any eye on the events section for these. They are generally once a month, albeit they had a slow start this year. Some of the venues are interesting and the cars are usually great in any case.
