Just had a renewal quote from Aviva on my 997 C4S last year £640 this Year £830. I have had no claims and although I live in London the car is registered in Northampton where my brother lives.
Who do people use for their insurance as I may shop around or is £830 the norm. I'm in my fifties clean license.

And where do they think the car is kept and which address is used for the policy ? Northampton or London ?

Thats a standard renewal increase in all honesty, run the quote back through as new business and they will usually match it ..... but you need to be clear where the car lives.

I, too, am in my 50s and have a 991 Cab. I'm a Manchester Postman but don't use the car for work and Axa quoted me £589. I was expecting (and quoted) £1200 from my previous insurer. Use ALL the comparison sites as they're not all the same.

And you're best being honest about where the car lives as I'm sure if you ever need to claim they'll be doing their upmost not to pay out!

I'm with Chaucer through Pace Ward. Mapped 996 turbo, in my early 40s and I paid just over £600 I think (Sept last year). And that was after a fault claim in May 2011 (although protected NCD).

I'm with Admiral. 31 years old, live in London. My 997.1 C4S last year cost me £980 with clean license and 8 years NCB. This year, with 3 points, 9 years NCB and a 997.2 Turbo they increased to £2000 premium. Got back down to £1230.

All three of our cars are with aviva. Z4 renewal came 1st March, down from 380 to 330. That's OK.

3 weeks later renewal arrived for Passat. Up from 400 to 470! After checking on market.com got versions quotes around 290. Went back to Aviva and got immediate reduction to 306.

911 up for renewal in September. Will definitely check market and challenge aviva whatever quote is.

Seems normal to try to scam long term customers and is best to search market at every renewal these days.

I am in my 50's and live in Hertfordshire. Renewal on 991 C4S came through at £1,390 incl business and commuting for 12,000 miles pa. I use two brokers and that was the best they could come up with via Aviva. I read on here last Friday about Admiral and renewed with them on a multi car policy for £642 and a massive saving on other cars as well. The only think I have lost is track day cover. I am very happy.

I'm in Mid-Essex and nothing has changed for either me, my wife or the Leon Cupra or 997C2s in our lives, yet my renewal from Admiral Multicar was £860 - not much up on last year, but it's the principal, right? Called them and got just over 10% off without really trying too hard. Nice.

I'm London based but keep my Porsches at a car storage facility in Amersham and the Tiguan on street. All 3 cars are £1,600. I'm 35, max NCB. Policy through A-Plan using Aurum Underwriting. The volume insurers are rubbish and if you pick up points, they hammer you. They also view factory fit options as 'modifications' and if you don't declare all of this, you're at risk of giving them a loophole. I just renewed and irritatingly have 3 points on my licence but it didn't change a thing on my A-Plan/Aurum policy.

Update. I Used the Northampton address for insurance previously not technically legal I know but I was living in Northampton when I originally bought the car and registered it at my brothers as I was living in temporary rented accommodation whilst searching for a property to buy in London which I have now done.(ouch!) I asked Aviva to quote on my London address and strangely it came up cheaper at £810 and after getting a few more quotes from other companies I am happy with this.
I asked why it is cheaper but the girl on the other end couldn't really tell me she said that is what her computer is telling her.
Seems very odd but ringing round the quotes I got ranged from £800 to £3000 again no rhythm or reason to it, almost as though they pick numbers out of the air and if you are lucky you get quoted the cheaper numbers. I have a £700 excess on the policy same as before.

Jonathan at Pace Ward (01782 286311) gets my vote. Some of you guys with multiple cars should try the 'Family Fleet' scheme - 50% discount also if YOU are the only user. Much cheaper than Admiral Multi Car (for me anyways), and nice to have a contact you can talk to.

eta; they were also doing a further £100 off on quoting an EVO mag code.

That's bloody good!

I paid £820 with Matt at Henderson Taylor. Could have been £670 if I didn't want commuting but I do take the car to work one or two days a year if it's sunny.

35 years old, mirrored full ncd.

Must admit I was a bit shocked. Will have to shop around next time.
