996 GT2 Buying Advice

Hi guys,

Looking to purchase a 996 GT2 very soon.

Researched for a long time and know everything except the options that were available?

I found an online options brochure for a 2004-2005 but this was the period they revised the GT2

Can anyone tell me or advise the options on the phase 1?

The two major options are clubsport or not. There are so few cars that trying to get the CS will be difficult. Options beyond that are irrelevant.

The 2004 model year was a Mk2 with different wheels and carbon fibre options for the spoiler element and front bonnet outlet and had a bit more power. Some people would regard the bucket seats as in keeping with a GT car so they're worth considering above the sports seats fitted to "ordinary" turbos.

your ID/name on pistonheads seems a good place to start. As one of the other posters said, not that many around, so should be straightforward to check provenance / set-up / servicing & mods history. Every time someone comes on saying they are looking for a GT2 - i want mine back but this time not in a comfort model.

Hi Steve - I've probably got mine for sale if your interested.
It was on sale or return at a dealer but I took it back as my 2nd car went.
PM me for details if your interested - it's a genuine car and I'm debating whether to offload to a dealer, try private sale or keep it!!
Ive had it 3 years - Black, comfort spec, full carbon pack, full suspension overhaul at centre gravity less than 2000 miles ago.

Oh and i am a previous member but its been that long since I posted I forgot all my details and moved emails so had to set up a new account. I Know you can get flamed for joining a forum just to pitch a sale!
There isn't much history on here tbh about the car but a few bits as far as I remember.
