Hi all, went to test my headlight washers today and found that they don't seem to do a lot. Lights on, press the button, and all that happens is a little dribble comes out of the passenger side washer - the driver-side one stays dry. Seeing as there's water going to one washer, I don't think the pump's given up - any clues on how to attack this? I'm assuming the pipes are gunked up and just need a bit of cleaning. I had a quick nose earlier and I can't really see where to approach the headlight jets from, they're sort of lost in a sea of metal.

TIA.

frown was hoping it wouldn't be a bumper-off job. Oh well, the weekend's nearly here and I guess I need something to do!

Just realised I never provided closure to this thread.

The pump for the headlight washers is located in the pax-side wing. I took my car to Advanced Car Care in Bristol, hadn't used them before but they're a pretty decent group of guys. What had happened was that one of the clips holding the pipe connecting the O/S washer to the pump had snapped and knocked the pipe out, so that whenever the washer were activated, the screenwash destined for the o/s jet would just dribble all over the floor. A £3 clip and an hour's labour (very reasonable at £55) later and the car was good to go.

I never realised the washer jets pop out slightly to spray the headlights.

So not to be starting another thread on the same subject I took my 997 for its NCT (Irish MOT) today and it failed because none of the washers are working. Not even a dribble. I turn on the lights press the small button under the wiper stalk and just nothing - not even the sound of a pump working. Is there a special fuse for this as I am hoping its a simple fix.
