6.2 GT3 at a high price ...

In response to the 'this is a strange spec' opinion:
There never was a specific 'comfort' spec. You had a 'normal' GT3 which included a Clubsport option. But I suppose we all decided to use comfort to mean not-Clubsport-option-selected
You could spec a normal GT3 with buckets (which came in leather) and a T-Equipment roll cage which was fairly easily removeable (i.e DIY if you felt like it) and mounted to the rear seatbelt mount points. This was not as strong as the Clubsport roll cage but good enough to give you some roll over protection and a good harness bar. The standard chassis is plenty stiff enough to not miss a more structural roll cage
The advantage of specing a normal GT3 in this way instead of the Clubsport was:
Leather seats instead of cloth
Rear cage that could be removed if you needed rear space
Additional side airbags (removed for Clubsport)
Additional sound proofing (removed for Clubsport)
Now although Clubsports have been proven to be more in demand with the fullness of time, I can see how when specing a new car, buyers could have decided to go the above route.
By the way this totalled to a more expensive purchase price than ticking the Clubsport option so the buyer would have felt they were buying an even higher spec car.
