I have a couple of days off next week and I am planning to order a new 981 cayman.
Does each OPC receive a limited number of new car builds per month,if so will I possibly get my order quicker by contacting different OPC to enquire on time scales.
I do not expect any discounts but have heard a few buyers say they have asked for and received freebies, (what would these be).
I have a very low mileage 2012 cayman (1500)that I will wish to trade, will I be better off trying to sell it privately to get the best price,or will trade prices vary greatly between different dealers

Trading in to Porsche, expect to be bent over and shafted.

Dealers have only so many slots, whoever gets there first gets it.

Get a quote for trade-in from the OPC at least.
Private sale comes with its own issues.
Could SOR it via one of the independents while you're waiting on the new one to arrive?

Yes, one dealer might have an August slot another might have July, so worth asking around. 2.7s are selling fast so the waiting list is longer.

Part of your challenge will be tying to get a firm trade in quote for five months time. Once you have one you will have plenty of time to sell privately if you don't mind being without a car for a while. Assuming you have the third year warranty then it may be easy enough to sell privately assuming the spec is decent and your price it a couple of grand below the OPC cars - say £40k for an S or around £32 for the standard car. Good luck with it all.

Thank you all for your help.

The spec is good,PDK 2.9, Bose,PCM, Nav,Sport chrono, auto climate,Phone Mod, etc etc. platinum silver (not even a stone chip)
I have another car so the the OPC could have it straight away before the new one arrives if that would get me as better deal, I dont know if they do such things ?.

They'll do it but you might not like their price. Find out soon though since you then have time to decide if you want to do a SOR elsewhere - that's how I've sold my previous Porsches and it went well for me. Even after margin to seller, it still beat the OPC offer.

Or you could sell it privately if you have the time.

Any opc will take your car off you any time you like.

The only question, is how much they will give you. But you will certainly get more now than in 5 months.

Big time. They as good as told me that I'd be better off selling mine privately.

Are you sure you want the telephone module? This is so u can put a sim in the dash... If u just want Bluetooth it's the mobile phone prep you want, I also think voice control is a waste of time I've never been in a car where it's worth a damn

I thought the prep for mobile only had limited functions, no address book, text, etc ?
most sales execs dont seem to know a lot about some of the tech accessories.
