Is it me or haven't they sold very many? Today I saw only my 3rd 981 Boxster and 4th 991 since they were launched last year!

Given that I live in the Thames Valley and work relatively close to Porsche Reading - I'm a little surprised as there are normally stacks of new Porsches doing the rounds ... When I think about it I'm seeing 20 times the number of Gen II 997's and 987's each month ....

Has anyone else seen many 981's in their areas?

Guy on my street appears to have got rid of his white 997s and swapped it for a white 991 C4S with black Fuchs wheels - It actually looks really nice and he even appeared to be taking it out for a spin in the snow, good on him.

Apart from that only seen two others in Leeds one which was a weird grey brown colour, a black C4S and maybe a couple of new boxsters on my travels.

Having said that I don't really seem to see many 911's or even that many boxsters at the moment - I think it is most likely due to them being locked away due to poor weather whereas I use mine all year round.

In Teesside I've not seen one 981, 991, CR (apart from mine) EVER! Seen a new 13 plate Panameras the other day, One Boxter Spyder and one or 2 new Cayennes and that's about it!

Speaking to a sales guy in OPC Newcastle, he did say that only a hand full of cars have been sold to owners in this area!

Maybe fitting as I live in one of those places voted worst place to live in UK lol

lots of 991s in North London, David Lloyd gym often looks like a Porsche / Range Rover showroom! White seems to be a popular choice

They are out there, most of them are sitting on OPC forecorts wink

Pretty rare sight on the road these days, sign-o-the-times.

I've had my 991 Cab since June and have only seen one other on the road (which is good really) and no Boxsters apart from 2 I've seen at Porsche Club events. Perhaps there's a recession and no one can afford the petrol anymore.............

Bit of a puzzle; with apparently so few on the road, one would think used prices would hold up well, yet depreciation seems quite fierce, based on the cars available on the OPC system.

Porsche pre-built far too many cars last year. They have right hand drive 991s coming out of their ears, especially manual cars. That's why you can get such a good deal on them.

I wonder if any blokes posting on this board will ever fess up to actually owning a 981 boxster. They all seem to belong to their other halves smile

I've yet to see a 991 on the road in the UK. Was very surprised at how many there were sitting in the OPC last time I was there - several of them RS'd up with ducktail spoilers as well.
