I remember what I would presume to be this car knocking around the local Autotrader (North West) about 10 years ago with either 165k or 185k on it. Colour and wheel colour were certainly the same. In which case it's had little use over the last decade and it's great that it's continued to be maintained correctly - should be a great car for someone.

Belongs to mate of mine, or should I say belonged!

He bought it from Strasse about 9 years ago with around 185k on the clock, so it's probably the one you saw Goose. It's been well maintained as outlined in the advert and hasent had any major issues during this time. He had it rebuilt by Strasse at 195 even though it was running well, amazingly the internal wear was minimal so the work was really precautionary! Despite the mileage it's a lovely motor and with a rude 330bhp on tap, it used to give my old GT3 a healthy workout....

There have been three buyers wanting to leave deposits and pay the asking price, one of them has got a bloody good honest car which should give him years of pleasure. My pal is regretting not asking a bit more for the car, but hey hindsight and all that...

So now he has finally seen the light and his next purchase will hopefully be GT3 wink

I have been contacted by nine people who all wanted to buy it blind wink. I think some of them are now doing a tribal dance for the sale to fall through, but I will be very surprised if it does. The new custodian is keen to collect the car.

Truthfully, this has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made car wise. My wife is looking a bit worried because she believed I'd sell her before I sold the 993 laugh but the time has come. Put simply, it has been epic. I have met great people, travelled in Europe and experienced some stunning levels of service from the independents I have used; Strasse and Ninemeister. There is a purely practical reason for selling it, in that I also have an XF Diesel S and I don't use either car enough. Therefore, I'm disposing of them both and buying one replacement; (which Glenn thinks should be a GT3 laugh ). Whatever it is, it will have a VERY hard act to follow but I strongly suspect it will be a Porsche of some description.

Looking forward to the next bit of adventure, but I'd better get a shift on because there's a German trip booked for June cool

I'm not surprised. Would seem to be a great buy.

I think this was one of two 993s featured in a magazine article a few years back. Both were daily drivers with high meileages.

New owner has let the dust settle and car now for sale for £27k. Can't see it selling for anywhere near that price but then again the new seller was trying to sell a pink 964 turbo look cab a while back for a large sum so who knows.

That's a shame. I was hoping it was heading for an enthusiast who wasnt worried about mileage nonsense and would put another 180k on her.

Where's it for sale?

Would have been nice for an enthusiast to get it. Understand dealers need to make money but new seller is taking the piss.

On eBay and classifieds here.

Bloody hell. I don't mind them trying to make a ten grand profit for two weeks work laugh but I'd have thought they'd at least have used their own wording on the advert rather than using mine on the bottom half; the bit without the spelling errors wink Really, at least you have to put some effort in. Maybe the north / south divide is bigger than I thought biggrin

If anyone wants some info on the car, as the custodian for the last seven years you know where I am. Caveat Emptor and all that.....

I did wonder how the new owner managed to "change the oil himself" last year after only owning for 2 weeks.

Wouldn't touch with a barge pole, didn't you put it through a car wash Oliver biglaugh

It really does go to show that all this rubbish about low mileage really is rubbish. Must be hard to look at those photos though, it does look stunning.

Hi Mark; hope all is well with you and yours. It's a stunning looking car, but the time was right to let it go. I managed to get the GT3 I was after and I priced the 2S keenly so that it would move to facilitate that, but not stupidly given the mileage and what it needed. One of those decisions I suppose; spend a lump of money on what needed doing to the 993, or move on. I'm not regretting my decision biggrin

As for the car wash, I was once at Meguiars head office with Jacob and the Impact Bumpers lot. They asked the room what the favourite means of washing a car was, expecting washing up liquid to be the reply. I replied the ARC drive through. They thought I was joking........ biggrin

Hope to catch up with you soon!
