Hi
Have just checked oil on 996 04 carrera 911. There is a off white emulsified deposit on the filler cap and on the filler tub ,is this normal?

If its also in the expansion tank I could be the headgasket, but if you don't use the car much or it doesn't get up to temperature it could just be condensation.
But it it's an old air cooled Porsche then I'm not sure.

This is quite common and usually nothing to worry about. Its caused mainly by stop starts and short trips. Wipe it off and take the car for a good blast and it should be fine.

I get exactly the same. It's always worse in cold weather and when relative air humidity values are high. If you do lots of short runs it helps to change the oil more often than specified. If you can, clean the emulsified junk off with some clean tissues.

Mayo is a standard Winter feature on these.
