I picked up my 9 month old Cayman a couple of weeks ago from an OPC as an approved used car - all is fine and the car is great, especially the price which represented £19,000 of depreciation in 9 months from the retail price! I finally got around to reading some more of the literature yesterday and noticed in the booklet 'Porsche Owner Services - Cayman' it states that all Porsche approved used cars are supplied with a top up pack of oil. Just wondered how many of you actually got this. Booklet also states the oil should be supplied as part of each service.

I am going to contact my OPC and I'm sure they will oblige. I appreciate its a relatively trivial point but if its supposed to be there...

Got one a couple of years back, but none supplied in my recent two Approved cars. Service were happy to sell me one when I queried it.

I guess it would make the car 'complete', but since most of them don't use any oil after about the first 1500-2000 miles, its academic really.

I wonder how much of that £19,000 of depreciation is down to the missing litre of oil?

Last year I picked up my 15 month old used Cayman from OPC which had lost over 40% in depreciation. Didn't get the oil but did get a litre and some washer fluid after the first service. I wasn't complaining...

At its last service OPC Cambridge gave me a litre of Mobil 1 in a little pouch with a Porsche logo which is stuck with velcro to the inside of the front compartment.

Of course the cost of the oil was on the invoice but the pouch was a nice touch...

Are you saying due to bore scoring the previous owner had used that oil to top up? wink

(Only kidding - enjoy your car and get the OPC to cough up some oil too!)

I got some when I bought my car (3 years old) from an OPC, I got some more the last time it was serviced (at a different OPC) - I also got some screen wash concentrate.......which leaked.

The car hasn't used any oil in the 17k i've done in it - so if I do need to use all i'm thinking i'll have a problem!!

Purchased a used Spyder last week and was given 1ltr of oil in a bag along with a touch up paint stick .When i got home discovered another one from the previous owner never used in the front compartment next to battery.
So yes you should have been given one .

Last time mine was serviced, they stuck another one in the boot right next to the original (unused) one. When I checked the bill later, it was on there at about £20.

I meant to return it for a refund but never got around to it.

I don't get the joke. Surely not having a spare litre of Porsche supplied oil would invalidate the Porsche warranty. I don't see that as a laughing matter.
