Rare (?) 997.2 GT3 RS Spec
Discussion
It would be fairly rare I imagine for a 997.2 GT3 RS to have leather and PCM? A good daily driver!

I like the sales pitch:http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/porsche-...
"$289,990 Drive Away No More to Pay"
All Aussie "luxury" cars are considerably better spec'ed as standard compared to the UK cars. There is a luxury vehicle tax that gets whacked on to the cars at import / first point of sale which means that the manufacturers put more options as standard on the car to even up the balance. Even at 2:1 ROE, this car represents an expensive purchase in GBP terms against similarly optioned cars in the UK which is an indication of the impact the additional tax has had.
Quite like the subtle 4.0 esque accents around the inlets / outlets on the front / rear PU's.

It may state leather and alcantara but that's not what it's got. Pics show its got standard Nomex cloth buckets. So not that unusual really.
It has a leather dash and alcantara scattered around, maybe not on the seats but the ad doesn't claim that. It may state leather and alcantara but that's not what it's got. Pics show its got standard Nomex cloth buckets. So not that unusual really.
Its actually got extra stickers, some extra bits of red trim, the large carbon pack and of course the front cage but although fairly loaded its not that rare.
Most RS's have a fair few options. Its a bit of a myth that people buy them as track warriors with PCCBs and sod all else.
When I ordered my GT3 RS via the configurator in 2009 for an April 2010 delivery, which eventually became delivery in Oct 2010 it was not possible to spec leather dash etc. However, when you sat down with the dealer at his computer that option and more were available. Hence the leather dash on this one.

you could get this for $215K AUD your money on current exchange rates ,
same spec car , is mint as , has all the fruit you're talking about .
I know the Australian market is very protected hence the luxury car tax you guys have to pay on imports .
I sold a M3 CSL to a guy couple years back & he took it back home to Aussie , cost him an arm & a leg on duty when landed on the great southern land !

You have to pay stamp duty on car purchases over here, even second hand. The 'drive away' price just means it's all included within the figure - otherwise you'd have to pay $13,550 when you registered it in your name."$289,990 Drive Away No More to Pay"

It has a leather dash, centre console stack and door trims which is not standard. It also has PCM which is rare in an RS, so it is far from vanilla. It may state leather and alcantara but that's not what it's got. Pics show its got standard Nomex cloth buckets. So not that unusual really.

I'd like to know about this CSL as I keep a CSL register in Australia. I'd be interested to know if it is on my import list. PM me if you like to discuss.http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/porsche/...

Most RS's have PCM though, by far the majority of them I would say.

I would agree with you on CDR30, not PCM (navigation), certainly not here in Australia anyway. Only 2 of the 9 currently for sale have PCM and only that one with leather. Most RS's have PCM though, by far the majority of them I would say.

I've seen a fair few and I reckon that about two thirds of UK cars have Nav, of which most also have the phone. Leather is comfortably below half that I've encountered though. Most of the cars that do have leather seem to have the rest of the options list (including ceramics) on them as well.....
