997 GT3 with sunroof???

Morning all

I have been offered a 997 GT3 with a sunroof! Has anyone ever seen a GT3 with a sunroof?

I think it was a factory option but it just seems a little odd.

Is this the only 997 GT3 with a sunroof in the UK? I have never seen one!

It was an option on the GT3 and iv seen a few with them.

If i was buying a GT3 i would like this option.

That would be very unusual on a UK GT3. Some markets had them, inc the US, and I once saw it on a C98 import in 'comfort' spec.

Not popular on something like a GT3 as it adds weight and complexity in exactly the wrong place, and out of keeping with a track car.

I Have a 7.1 GT3 in comfort spec and it has a sunroof, it will nice I imagine when it's a nice sunny day on a euro trip.
It is not like I am going to be pushing the limits of the car so far that I will ever notice the lack of torsional rigidity due to the sunroof.

Imo it's not a must have but it's not really a bad thing either, unless you want it as an all out track weapon, then just buy an RS anyway.

I always assumed the sun roof thing was peculiar to the states if I'm honest.

It just seems really odd that it was even offered as an option on a car like the GT3.

Mind you, not as odd as a sunroof on a GT3 RS would look!

No, no 4.0s anywhere with sunroof. Or 7.2 3/RSs for that matter.

Option on the 997.1 GT3 and mandatory in some locations (particularly the US) for some bizarre type approval reason. I think it was about £700 or so, but has to be the most niche option on a GT3 of them all?

My gen 1 has a sunroof. Wasn't looking for one, but I bought it as a road car so it wasn't an issue. It is really nice to have in the summer.
