996 - Need lower seats

I'm being hassled to take my car on a track day this year, but with the standard sports seats I don't have enough headroom to wear a helmet. Can the seats be modifed to get them a bit lower ? I reckon an inch or more is needed.

Would some bucket seats get my arse a bit lower in the car ? I can dispense with the runners if necessary; nobody else ever drives the car.

lowered seats was a cost option for the 996, very very rare to find a car with them though

but might be worth asking an OPC what parts were involved and whether you can retrofit - usual bargain P price will apply of course
