Hiya,

I am finally going to scratch the 911 itch that has been bugging me for a year. I have looked at and driven a few different models but I think I am going to go for a cab rather than a coupe; mainly as I live in Essex so it'll be easier to get a natural tan rather than a bottled one with the top down smile I jest...

My question is really - Has anyone got experience of 18 inch wheels on a 997.2 cab or coupe? I know that they are standard and that the road noise will be better but has anyone come across any driving issues with them?

My immediate dislike is simply cosmetic (which I can overcome), as I think in general that 18 inch wheels look a little weedy on the car however; I thought I'd check in here before going to book a test drive of the car on offer as it's a fair distance away from me?

Looks like a lovely motor! I PREFER the 18" wheels. But then I'm biased as I like the 17" on my '98 C2 Cab. You don't want to be under tyred on smaller wheels. 18" certainly ride better on English roads that 19". Please see the GT1'98 - undertyred and probably underwheeled too!

Thanks for the reply smile You are correct at about the right wheel the British roads; i had 18's on my old JCW and the road noise / rise quality was awful. I think it's loud in my Cayman S and that has 19's.

I guess I am just instantly drawn to big chunky wheels on a sporty car, think I'll go down there an give it a ride and see!
