Picking up the 991 tomorrow evening, can hardly wait ( will post pics over the weekend )
Briefly, Carrera 2 , agate grey, bi leather, sports seats, PDK, Bose, silk gloss wheels and half a page more of options.

Having never owned anything so expensive before I was wondering what everyone thought of alloy wheel and paint scuff protection.

The wheel cover is about £350 for 3 years and the paint about £700

Now, in 3 years I will probably be handing the thing back and thought that I would probably get the money back on the wheels as I imagine they are expensive to repair (platinum grey silk ) however the ding protection only covers stuff up to 15cm diameter. In my experience, my dings have been much larger and would probably end up not been covered .

Any advice/ experiences gratefully received,

Won't be sleeping much tonight...

A top quality refurb is £70-£90 per wheel - i.e wheel off, tyre off, blast, repair, coat and balance and re-fit.

I wouldn't bother unless the paint protection covers more than just stone chips, swirl marks. If it's just the Porsche version of Supaguard or whatever, then get it detailed by a professional such as KDS Keltec.

Probably best to set that money aside for a decent detail/valet in the future.

If i was you i would not bother with both, you can get a proper detail done then either look after yourself or get an annual look after. Have a look at detailingworld website for some inspiration.

Heres a couple of pictures for inspiration but i do like to look after my porker myself!

Got loads more but don't want to take over!

Enjoy your new porker and lets see some piccys when you get it, also don't forget to take your camera with you as if it goes anything like my handover you will get the full treatment when being presented with your car.
