Porsche newbie - advice on first purchase
Discussion
Hi folks, new to the forum.
Afte a few years of deliberation I am about to buy my first porsche and wanted to avoid doing anything daft.... So advice much appreciated.
Looking to get a used Cayman or Cayman S and have a few test drives arranged for later this week (will tell me if I need the S!), with a range of candidates in terms of mileage / spec. Whatever I get will have a few miles on the clock - I can deal with maintenance costs and the odd surprise but want to minimise the risk of a catastrophe!
So a few questions:
What are the major service intervals, 2 years I think? Should I be worried about where these performed - obviously dealer is good to have but are Indy specialists just as good?
How bothered should I be about age/mileage - are there any particular known issues with 1st Gen/ 2nd Gen Caymans I should beware of?
Any strong preferences I should be thinking of for 1/2 Gen Caymans....
Thanks for any help.
