Yes. You can put the car on a Classic limited mileage policy. Usual provisos are that you have access to a daily driver and the car is garaged overnight.

Start with these:-

Asset Trust
A, Manning

I am sure others will chip in with some other recommendations.

My insurance was with Aviva and I paid roughly £1200 for my 993turbo 3 yrs ago - Central London, resident street parked, no insurance claim ever.

My GT3RS cost me £1600

And current Challenge Stradale at £1200 (sole driver)
and '89 300SL R107 at £700 but does incl my wife (w/ her only 2yr full UK license)

I've just insured a 993 Carrera with Admiral, via the Moneysupermarket site,

The premium was just over £600, fully comp.

For context, my insurance credentials are....
41 yr old guy. Clean license with no claims or points in last 5 years.
Mileage limited to circa 3k per year.
Car garaged when not in use.
Rural Postcode, Midlands.
Excess of £350 on claims.
Car has a Thatcham 1 alarm/ immobiliser.
Partner insured as well, though I'm slightly concerned she'll 'bin it' into a hedge at the earliest opportunity.

The price seemed pretty keen considering my A4 estate costs over £500 to insure for work purposes.

I'd noticed other people mentioning the 'comparison sites' as being worth a look, and was happy to go with a quote rather than sit through a phone conversation with a broker at length.

Good luck

You could try Jonathan at broker Pace Ward, limited mileage & performance cars are their speciality. Very straightforward and helpful.

Avila here too....cost about £500 with a mileage restriction, and protected no claim bonus.

I would have thought an agreed value policy would be a pretty good idea on a classic such as a 993, which is a bit more specialised.

That is alot IMO.

44 years old
6 Points for DWDCA (Dont ask)
Commercial vehicle accident 2.5 years ago See above
Not garaged, on road cover
CAT 2 alarm
6K miles per year.
Breakdown included and recovery (not home start)
Price includes my wife to drive
Excess £350.00
Town location and countryside Postcodes (I keep her garaged in one and on road at the other)

£462.00 fully comp ..... and I thought that expensive. C2 993

Thanks for that. It's obvious I'm a newbie here, so this helps give some perspective, along with Guyvert's substantially cheaper quote. Much appreciated!

Perhaps too many factors to compare 'like for like', I forgot to mention a job which insurers tend to penalise, and points on partners license.

Good references to have when hunting for a quote next year!
