I noticed recently that my 944 (1988 2.5 lux) is leaking fuel from the tank area, a local garage confirmed this today.
Does anyone have a link to a 'how to' on removal? Also links to various sources of new/recon fuel tanks that I may have missed would be appreciated.
I hope the gearbox doesn't have to come out to gain access to the tank?
What would you expect to be charged in labour (hours wise) for this job.
Also while they were looking at they noticed the gearbox is leaking, without further investigation I'm not sure where exactly from. Doesn't anyone have experience of what it's likely to be.
Cheers
Jonathan

Hi
I am sure to get the fuel tank out the gearbox needs removal. However, its not a big job to remove the gearbox.
However, I thought the fuel tank was plastic from 1985
onwards (I am sure someone with more knowledge will bae along shortly to prove me wrong!)
For a fuel leak, I would be more concerned with the fuel lines that go from the tank to the engine as they can corrode through.
Hope this helps.
