Porsche 993 engine mounts.
Feel slightly guilty asking this...
However having enquired, Porsche Hatfield can sell me a pair of engine mounts for £230 plus Vat.
Interestingly, a pair for a 996 is £108 plus Vat.
They look damn similar, are they interchangeable?
The guy at Porsche said that the 996 part has a 993 part number – 993 325 049 08.
Would I be saving a £120 or returning them when they don’t fit?
Cheers
Keith

C2 or C4?

C2 mounts are about twice the price of the C4. C4 mounts retrict the engine a little more (less front to back flex)

I fitted C4 mounts to my C2. It actually helped gear change and clutch pickup.
They are not as firm as the RS mounts, so a good halfway house so to speak.

I was also informed that engine mounts are a non returnable item when I bought them from OPC Solihull
EDIT: C4 mounts are Part No 993.375.049.09

I fitted see c4 mounts to my c2 cab about six months ago.

They are working very well and only took about one hour to change.

Sorry, forgot to mention mine is a C2.
Is it best to buy my c4 mounts from the OPC?
Is there a price point I should be aiming to buy at?
Cheers

Newcastle.

Has anyone got a firm C4 number where it should be around £50?

Unless they've cottoned onto it and jacked the price up?

They've worked it out .

OP part number is wrong, should be a 7 not a 2.

993 375 049 08 and yep £103 + vat.

Gents,
Just to let you know I fitted the c4 mounts.
I think it has made a small difference, slightly better gear change, different feel to the rear end and a little more engine vibration transmitted through the body.
Probably more benefit if I was a track rather than road driver.
Cheers

Keith, could you do me a big favour and pass on the part number from your invoice where you paid £108 + vat for the pair smile

Still not answered the question of why 996 mounts are near identical, half price and have a 993 part number.

Will these work or not?

Also I wonder if replacing the front (gearbox) mount will stop vibration coming through the stick?

I fitted the RS mounts to my C2s and it transformed the car, cannot reccommend them highly enough.

Also half the price of the new C2 mounts.

But - are they £103 each or for a pair?
Part numbers for the cheaper version?
