Anyone else got an invite yet? 4 March, Silverstone for me. Are the events worth going to?

Nope, no invite yet. I'm hoping for one off Chester, Wilmslow and Colchester. We shall see!

Will I go...probably, enjoyed the Boxster one and they might want my CR on display wink

Those 3 OPCs in the same network then? I thought Colchester was with Cambridge and East London. I've bought both my Boxsters from Cambridge then Colchester but got very little in terms of these invites or other stuff. After one service from Silverstone and I've so far had this invite, a day in a 997 GTS4, an hour in a CR and a day in a 991 C2..

Nope, all separate networks; just that I've either bought, serviced, or borrowed cars from each of them and received an invite from them all for the Boxster event, so given I have a Cayman R, I would have thought I'm a prime candidate for an invite.

(not bothered if I'm not)

Can I ask what happens in these events?

Is it just a case of having a couple of cars to look at and test drive for a short period of time? If yes, wouldn't it be better just to arrange an extended test drive on another day rather than get a load of people fighting to look at the car and queing for test drives?

Not got an invite as yet but I purchased my CR from OPC Bournemouth but my local OPC is Newcastle which I have used for warranty work only so far.

Got an invite through yesterday from OPC Leicester. To be honest though, Hatfield would be more convenient and is where I have spent more money recently, so will see if I get an invite from them before deciding whether to attend the Leicester one.

No, you got that wrong - Colchester, Cambridge and East London are all the same network - Jardine Motors http://www.jardinemotors.co.uk/porsche

I've had precious little in the way of invites for additional events from OPC EL and I too have a CR and 981 that I bought new from them.

Interestingly, I went to a market research exercise that Jardine were doing at OPC East London; basically a focus group with their head of customer services. I was sat next to a guy who had bought 11 911's from that OPC, 10 were factory order and 1 was a demonstrator. I'm not talking entry level cars either, they included a 997.1 GT2 and a 997.2 GT3 RS. The OPC had never even done as much as throwing in a complimentary factory collection for the guy yet the chap across from me who had bought a 987 Cayman had been given a track day (in addition to what you get with a new car) and had a complimentary factory collection trip thrown in. From the same OPC. I can guarantee that the 911 owner gave his salesman a call at 9am the next morning.

I didn't, I was pointing out to the previous question that Colchester, Wilmslow and Chester are all separate networks to each other wink

In any case, I'd like to go to the evening but don't feel the new Cayman will be better than my Cayman R.
