Evening all,

Contemplating a trip to the Porsche Museum in the next few months. Can anyone recommend an interesting driving route(s) to get there?? Or alternatively roads to avoid!

Thanks in advance.

We was there last year and took the B500 south from Baden Baden. It's an awesome road, about 40 miles of sweeping bends. It ends about half hour away from stutgart museum.

Rotterdam to the Ring to Stuttgart is how we spent a fine day in May.

Thanks for the tips - I'll get the European Roadmap out! Going to try and do it in a weekend soon.

I also recommend B500

When it comes to hotels, I would suggest the V8 hotel in Böblingen, next to Stuttgart. Some find it a bit cheesy, but if you are doing a petrolhead trip, I think it is appropriate.

If you have time, visit Technik Museum Sinsheim, which is very close to Hockenheimring, great collection of cars and planes (they have a Concorde and TU-144 on display). http://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en

Also, Daimler museum is a must when in Stuttgart, unless you have visited it already

Enjoy!

Thanks mate. We did the merc museum on on sunday. Wow what a place; drove past the concorde on a stand and wandered what it was but didn't have time to stop
Home after a non stop stuttgart to london drive and tired.
The 996 performed like a true gt/sports car loved it and got to stretch her out to 175mph which was nice had lots more to give and I got 2 laps of the ring in so a good holiday all told

Metsta - hope you had a good trip!

Thanks for all the advice and tips chaps. Just need to select an appropriate weekend now.

Final question then - what would be the best machine to take? GT3 or GTS? Just think longish schlep with iPod, cruise, bluetooth etc might be nice (GTS) or perhaps I should MTFU and rip it up on the good roads and autobahn in one of Stuttgart's finest (GT3).

Cheers
