Hi, weird question but would anyone have the rough dimensions on a 996 plate diff handy?
For a bit of a left field project, someone mentioned they're about the right size for what I need but I'm struggling to find any technical info.

Think you're going to have to pick up one of these from a salvage yard and take the dimensions you need from it. AFAIK Porsche does not publish any blueprints for things like differentials which would include dimensions.

Email guard transmissions. Matt will either know off the top of his head or have plenty kicking about to get you what you need.
You are likely to need to contact him ref internals anyways if you need any ramp other than 40/60. You will also need guard or cup plates to install, the street stuff isn't particularly good.

Exactly what dimensions do you require?

For those that may be interested we supply LSD's designed and manufactured exclusively for us to fit the Boxster S, Cayman S and 996. These are plate type but have different ramp angles and plate stiffness with easily altered internals.

It is worth pointing out however that all LSD's will tend to make the handling change - more usually towards understeer - and that you need to know how to compensate for that ti get the best advantage from it.

Thanks all, much appreciated, I'm trying to see if the unit will fit in a renault transaxle I have, so I'm just after rough bearing-to-bearing widths, bearing seat diameter, and rough casing dimensions to make sure the input shaft will clear.

Is that something you'd have to hand Baz?
