Done a bit of research and found out:

Liquid perfection centers, knightsbridge.
Lellers, clerkenwell road, in the city.

The latter would be more convenient for me being east-ish london.

My 993c2s has been detailed and needs great care.

My 996 turbo S is usually washed by myself using a two buckets method and dried with microfiber cloth.
However, the poor weather means that i spend way too much time doing this... I need an alternative solution and not the local monkeys!

Looking for some feedback on both and cost??

Can not recommend Gurch at Liquid enough. Prices start from £20 for a quality wash and you get what you pay for.

Here's a thread on 911uk with some pictures showing the quality and attention to detail.

Although I haven't used elite detailing I happened to park in the ncp where he is based in Knightsbridge and it cost me about £30 for a few hours while having lunch. So given the parking is free if you get your car detailed there its a bit of a no brainer especially if you have other commitments in the area

Just stick in through the local car wash, will come up great.

Only kidding - though do the suggestions offered already use the 2 bucket method?

Another +1 for Liquid Perfection, though £20 may be a bit optimistic. Gurch has a an "a la carte" pricing system; £20 gets you the very basics, IIRC. Think I spent £80-110 last time I was there, and thought it was well worth it.

Just got back from a wash at Lellers on Clerkenwell Rd. £10 exterior only (£1 estra for card payment and only had a tenner on me so was my only option).

They do a very good wash, but I think its more suitable for your daily / non detailed cars. I wouldn't want to take my properly detailed 997 there. They rinse and dry the car properly but only use one wash/mitt and they take off the excess water with a blade which I think isn't ideal for the paint.

Having said that, some of these other wash places mentioned above seem to have WAY over the top prices!! In my book anything over £25 is way over the odds for an external wash... or I am getting this wrong and there are additional items included like feeding the leather and wax?

Next try will be at 'Over the Rainbow' car wash, its somewhere off the North Circular, but apparently has good reviews and they do the 2 bucket wash and are around the £15 mark.

Good reports thanks. Have done a two buckets wash myself in the end.

I will defo try the knightsbridge one at some point. The lellers one i won't bother. They seem to do a similar job to my friends near mcdonald cwharf who take a fiver. Plus they are extra carefull with me as i insist on clean water, clean mits.
