Bye Bye.....But i'll be back!
Discussion
Well, after 10 months in the car and over 10000 miles, my lovely 997 Carrera S has been sold!
I put it up for sale yesterday morning and after an initial slow start the calls came flooding in after 6pm!
As some of you may know, I bought the car from RSJ and Joel was eager to have the car back as it is a good one but before I could take the car to him, someone came and took it away last night.
It was priced very competitively and I think this helped but every phone call I took the buyer mentioned that fact I had put in the advert it was an ex RSJ car. This appealed to them and I honestly believe that the car wouldn’t have had as much attention if I didn’t put that in.
I covered around 500 miles a month and a few long trips abroad. The main one being the Petrolhead Nirvana Alpine Tour. This was an amazing trip over 2500 miles across seven countries. France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria etc etc The car performed faultlessly.
Here are some random pics of my time with the car….
Collection day!!!!

Off into Europe with the Petrolhead Nirvana guys.

French Autoroutes are smooth

Ferrari sounds amazing

Gorgeous 993 C4S

Filth!

Stelvio pass

Surprisingly economical over 2500 miles

On a run to Paris with a poorly Ferrari

C63 AMG sounded like thunder

Saw this in a car park, looks lovely

A big pile of iron with some pretty lights

Last photo before it was sold

It's been great fun owning this car and the search for a GT3 starts........... NOW!

Nice one mate - the GT3 will be AWESOME.
Did you have any thoughts about the GT3 when you first purchased the 997, or was this something that emerged during the course of your ownership?
I bought the C2S as a weekend car but ended up driving it all the time and each time I drove it I was amazed at how competent it was and slowly bit by bit I hankered for a more focused version of the same car so the GT3 became the target Did you have any thoughts about the GT3 when you first purchased the 997, or was this something that emerged during the course of your ownership?

Search has started but I am thinking they may come down in price a little more as soon as the 991 GT3 is released and people upgrade.

Agreed re price reductions once the 991 GT3 hits...
Cars are bloody addictive (and expensive) !!!
That looks a lovely car - just starting my GT3 adventure I would recommend the following

but I have that one.
Have seen this one and it is beautiful.

I hope the price does not fall too much

You put a 911 up for sale in the morning and someone drives off in it later that night!
That has to be some kind of a record - did you give it away?
I've had a m3 sell on the same afternoon when an ad went life - guy was pretty wealthy and wanted confidence who he was buying from, wanted it close by (literally 5 mins from my house!) and didn't even negotiate! That has to be some kind of a record - did you give it away?
