I had it switched on for the morning whilst I learned the circuit and it warmed up/dried out, then turned it off in the afternoon, it was definitely better off. One thing I did notice, it's not completely off when you turn it off. I'm sure it's only 70%-90% off as the little PSM flashy LED did come on sporadically when it was turned off (if that makes sense??)

am waiting for the photographers to update their site, with the pics form yesterday. Will post a few up when I get them. My brother came in his Stage 4 VX220 Turbo and we had cameras in both cars. Will post some vids up when they are edited as well. I've got a lovely vid of a white 997 Turbo being taken to school :-)

There was a Cayman R showing many cars the way home at Oulton RS day this year. My first experience of a PDK car on track - I was amazed.

It comes on with ABS is triggered in 1 wheel if sport mode is not on and both wheels if sport mode is on.

The PSM on mode is very good and doesn't really come on if you are not provoking oversteer intentionally ie it will allow a little slip before gathering it up. I do agree that on a wet day it is prolly for the better. On a dry day, I still leave it on as I dun find it intrusive at all.

I'm glad you are finding it incredible on track. I find mine awesome although i would still like to find out the difference a GT3 makes (other than outright grip and HP).

I believe that may have been me, Peridot Green, PCCB's and Silver wheels --- if so, I always leave the PSM on. It only assists if required, is anulled by constant loads to the point of assistance beneficial (so I am told by Porsche Motorsport), and I hardly ever see the PSM light.

Road tyres --- but the fronts wear faster than the rears !

I agree completely, utterley fab ... and road car !

It won't have worn itself out/fallen apart after a year of track use.

It was indeed you Chris - the unassuming chap who offered to take on a couple of familiarisation laps - and then drove the doors off the thing! Execllent car, excellent wheelman!

Nice car indeed. How did the R compare to your brothers ride around Bedford?

I had a modified Cayman S for 5 1/2 years and thought it was absolutely awesome. I did many trackdays in it and took a few scalps. I sold it last year to my friend and bought a GT3 this year.

I was expecting the GT3 to be better, but I wasn't prepared for how much better. I would highly recommend one if trackdays are where you get your biggest fix. They were just born to be there. Amazing amazing AMAZING piece of kit.

Yeah the Cayman s is a great track car just with mild mods!best with the t/c off, very adjustable, the only advantage over a 911 is you can use the brake up to the apex without it getting out of shape.then the 911 takes over from the apex massive grip so the extra power is used fully, the GT3's have a lot more go in a straight line, but like Jack said you can still fun and take the odd GT3 scalp with them :-)

You are too kind --- I am always looking for willing victims smile

GT3's are good, I've owned and tracked all the 996 variants -- but I doubt the Cayman will fall apart.

It better not, I'll be racing one in the PC championship next year --- trying to be a little faster than last year.

And grinning like a schoolkid doing the 'karting my parents could never afford to allow me to do ---
