2010 Cayman S with extended warranty. About 6 months ago the dealer programmed it to drop the windows slightly when the hatch is opened to make it easier to close and then return to closed. Occasionally one or other of the windows would lower when the hatch was closed not raise and its done it again. Problem is that I didnt notice and the pissing down rain has now soaked the door internally and the blue colour from the leather has turned all the white stitching blue!!!!

Now I know they dont cover cosmetics with the warranty BUT do you think I could successfully argue that its a mechanical failure as it was the window that caused the issue?

If not, how do I get my white stitching back to as good as it can be? suggestions on cleaners etc please.

Try posting the same on `Bodywork and Detailling` section, a lot of the valet/cleaning experts hang out there...

Potentially obvious question, but have you contacted the dealer?

You cannot lock the car without receiving that tel-tale 'beep' which warns if a window or door is open. Do you recall it doing that?

If not, there may be a fault logged somewhere.

You can lock the car with the windows open but not with a door or boot or bonnet not closed. I have tested that. I will be contacting the dealer early next week.
